HOLIDAY FOOD BOXES

Help us feed 300 Families this Holiday Season

Is child hunger really a problem in America?

13 million children in America struggle with food insecurity, that’s 1 in every 6 kids. In Arkansas, the problem is even worse:

1 in every 4 Arkansas children - that’s over 162,000 kids - don’t know where their next meal is going to come from.

Due to food insecurity, for so many Arkansas children when school is out, so is their ability to have access to food. With YOUR help, we can make sure these kids know they won’t be hungry this Holiday Season.

Why Food Boxes?

IT’S ABOUT MORE THAN JUST FOOD.

A hungry child is more likely to:

  • Have less energy

  • Bully others or behave badly

  • Deal with food related health issues:

    • Anemia

    • Asthma

    • Depression and anxiety

    • Cognitive and behavioral problems

  • Have a short attention span, memory or trouble concentrating

  • Repeat a grade

  • Show aggressive or antisocial behavior

  • Be malnourished

FOOD INSECURITY STATISTICS IN AMERICA

  • According to Feeding America, 84% of households buy the cheapest food, instead of the healthiest, to ensure they have enough to eat.

  • Approximately 70% of SNAP participants are in families with children.

  • Arkansas ranks 4th highest in the number of children facing food insecurity.

  • 66.5 out of every 100 students in Arkansas rely on School Breakfast & Lunch Programs for their daily meals.

HOW WE FEED:

This year, we take the solution to the community’s doorstep! Our Mobile Program visits 11 communities a day throughout the Central Arkansas area. That’s 300 kids who will have a food box delivered to their door this Holiday Season.

You are the reason this is made possible. Because of you we are able to make a difference in the lives of thousands of people who might otherwise go hungry.

“If you can’t feed a hundred people, then feed just one.”
