Who is Rich Insurance Services and what do they have to do with Every Arkansan?
Rich Insurance Services is one of Every Arkansan’s partners, meaning they’re not just a one-time donor or occasional volunteer. They keep coming back, year after year, because they believe what they do on a Saturday morning matters as much as what they do Monday through Friday.
Why would an insurance company spend their Saturdays serving kids in Arkansas?
Because several people on their team grew up as those kids. They know firsthand what it means to grow up in a lower-income apartment complex with a parent working double shifts. Showing up for Arkansas kids is personal for them.
What does corporate volunteering look like in practice?
In Rich Insurance’s case, it looks like Water Day: a full morning of showing up for kids in apartment complexes across Central Arkansas with food, fun, and the kind of attention every child deserves. It also looks like Serve Saturdays, mentoring, and a team that looks forward to it more each year.
How does showing up for kids change the people who show up?
In ways that are hard to measure but impossible to miss. When you spend a morning with kids who are just glad you’re there, something shifts. The Rich Insurance team will tell you they leave every year with more than they brought.
How can my company get involved with Every Arkansan?
Easier than you’d think. With one sign-up, your team could do what Rich Insurance has been doing for years. There’s room for more companies to say yes, and the kids in Arkansas are hoping they will.
Most companies measure success the same way: revenue, growth, and client retention. The numbers that show up on a quarterly report and tell you whether the year was good or not. Those things matter, and Rich Insurance Services understands that as well as anyone.
But somewhere along the way, they decided that success had a wider definition than what fits on a spreadsheet.
Rich Insurance Services is an Every Arkansan legacy partner, and that word, legacy, means something specific here. It doesn’t mean they wrote a check once and moved on. It means they keep showing up. Year after year, they bring their team out to serve Arkansas kids in the communities where the need is highest.
There’s a version of corporate community involvement that’s mostly about optics. A photo for the company newsletter, a line item in the annual report, or a feel-good story to share at the holiday party. Rich Insurance is doing something different. Their involvement with Every Arkansan isn’t a strategy but a reflection of who they are.
And the story of how they got there is worth telling.
Why They Keep Showing Up
The easiest way to understand why Rich Insurance keeps coming back is to listen to the people on their team talk about it.
CJ Hayes, one of their agents, doesn’t have to imagine what the kids at Water Day are going through. He lived it. Growing up, he faced many of the same challenges and circumstances that the kids Every Arkansan serves are navigating today. What changed his trajectory wasn’t a program or a resource. It was adults who showed up and poured into his life. They gave him the good news of Jesus, a sense of victory, and a reason to believe his future mattered.
Now he’s one of those adults, and he takes that seriously.
Marie Rich, Vice President, sees it the same way, just from a different angle. For her, it’s about the moment. The afternoon of fun and the adult who kneels down and pays attention to a kid who doesn’t always get that. She believes one moment can change the trajectory of a child’s future, and she’s built that belief into how her company spends its time.
Nate Rich, President, grew up in some of the same areas Rich Insurance now serves. He knows what those neighborhoods are like from the inside. And every year, his goal is simple: make it better than the year before.
This is why they keep showing up. Not because someone asked them to check a box, but because they remember what it meant when someone showed up for them.
What Water Day Looks Like
Picture a summer afternoon in a Central Arkansas apartment complex.
Kids are outside because outside is where they go. There’s not much else. No summer camp, family vacation, or structured activities waiting for them. Just the parking lot, the other kids from the complex, and a long afternoon stretching out ahead of them.
Now picture a truck pulling up with the EA Kids Mobile logo on the side and a water day setup that turns an ordinary Tuesday into something nobody forgets.
That’s what Rich Insurance and the Every Arkansan team show up to create.
The EA Kids Mobile Annual Water Day isn’t a polished corporate event. It happens right where the kids are, in the parking lots and open spaces of the apartment complexes where they live. On their turf, with people who came specifically for them.
“We would’ve been truly grateful if we’d had an organization like Every Arkansan to come visit us where we lived,” Maci says. “To give us a little food but more importantly the love and attention all kids crave.”
That love and attention is what Water Day delivers, and for the kids who experience it, it’s anything but ordinary.
Why Business and Community Belong Together
“We’ve watched Rich Insurance show up for Arkansas kids year after year, and what strikes me most isn’t the event, but the consistency. Any organization can do something once. It takes a different kind of commitment to keep coming back. That’s what changes communities.”
— Drew Davis
The Ripple Effect Nobody Planned For
Rich Insurance showed up for the kids, yet nobody warned them what it would do to their team.
It’s the part of corporate volunteering that doesn’t make it into the pitch deck, aka the way serving together changes the people doing the serving. Not in an overnight way, but in the cumulative way that happens when you spend time doing something that matters alongside people you work with every day.
For Rich Insurance, Water Day has become something that holds their team together. A shared experience that means more than a team-building exercise ever could. Something people look forward to and think about long after it’s over.
Maci put it simply: a single moment can change the trajectory of a kid’s future. But here’s what nobody says out loud: it can change the trajectory of the adult who shows up too. The person who came to give something away leaves with something they didn’t expect.
More Than a Business: A Legacy
Legacy is a word that gets used loosely, but at Every Arkansan, it means more.
A legacy partner is a company that’s decided that their impact on Arkansas doesn’t stop when business hours do. Rich Insurance has earned that title not through one grand gesture but through years of showing up when it would have been easy not to.
Legacy is built in moments, stacked one on top of another, over years of choosing to show up. Rich Insurance has been doing that, and the kids who remember Water Day carry something forward that nobody can take away.
One company decided to be more than a business, and Arkansas kids are growing up differently because of it.
Your Company Can Say Yes Too
Rich Insurance Services started with a yes.
One decision to show up and one team that came out to serve Arkansas kids and left knowing they’d be back. Everything that came after grew from that first decision to say yes to something bigger than their business.
Kids in Arkansas now are waiting for more companies to make that same decision.
And the bar to get started is lower than most people think. You don’t need a corporate giving program or a budget line item for community involvement. You need a willingness to show up, and Every Arkansan will handle the rest.
Here’s how your company can get involved:
Serve Saturday. Bring your team out any Saturday from 9am to 12pm. It’s organized, accessible, and one of the most meaningful things you’ll do together all year. Sign up here.
EA Kids Mobile. Join the team reaching kids across Central Arkansas, with food, fun, and the kind of presence kids remember.
New Partnership. If your company wants to be the kind of organization that shows up year after year and builds something lasting, we’d love to talk about what that looks like for you.
Corporate Match. If your company will match your donation or enable you to volunteer for a day, reach out here.
You’re one sign-up away from being someone’s hero.
Rich Insurance said yes. The kids in Arkansas are hoping you will too!
